WHAT IS TETRALOGY OF FALLOT?
Tetralogy of Fallot is a congenital heart condition characterized by four distinct heart defects, including a ventricular septal defect, pulmonary stenosis, an overriding aorta, and a hypertrophic right ventricle. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 1 in 2,518 babies in the U.S. are born with tetralogy of Fallot. Despite the complexity, treating newborns with this condition with surgery can help ensure they live a healthy life.
